Stun Gun and Taser - What is the difference?

stun gun taser difference

Stun Gun and what people like to call “Taser” (shooting stun gun) are two of the most popular devices used for personal protection. Both self defense products use high voltage electric shock to stop an attacker, but there are so differences in the way each operates.

STUN GUN: Electrical prongs are attached to the unit so its a direct contact device and can only be applied at a close distance. All a person needs to do is touch the assailant with the stun gun prongs to immobilize them for several minutes. Stun guns can be used multiple times and in most cases just test firing the unit into the air is often enough to stop the attacker. As the bright electric current pulsates between the prongs and creates an intimidating electrical sound an attacker with any sense at all will be stopped in his tracks. Most stun guns also come with built in LED flashlight that can be used for personal protection as well! When shined in the eyes of an attacker, can have a temporary blinding effect making it easy for you to immobilize them with the stun gun.

TASER: Is a brand for the shooting stun guns. “TASER” is a shooting stun gun that shoots out electrical probes that reach targets at a distance of up to 15 feet. A taser is a single shot device that requires skill and accuracy to use effectively. Taser models come in shapes that mimic the look of a handgun, as well as shapes that do not.
